Although the White Pagoda Temple is in the downtown area, once you enter the gate, the noise outside is isolated.

The temple was built in the Yuan Dynasty.(1271)During the Ming and Qing dynasties and the Republic of China, the temple was repaired several times, and the Kangxi Emperor and the Qianlong Emperor both had their own inscriptions in the imperial script for restoration.

The initial construction of the temple was done by specially recruiting 80 artisans from Nepal to complete the project. One of them, Anigo, is an architectural craftsman hired from Nepal.
Anigo was born in 1244 and grew up with natural talent and intelligence. He was only 17 years old at the time, but he volunteered to participate. He worked in China for 45 years, with great achievements in architecture, painting, sculpture, and foundry work.In the temple, we can see the sculpture built in his honor.
With a total height of 51 meters, masonry structure and white body, the White Pagoda of Miao Ying Temple is the earliest, largest and best preserved Tibetan Lama Pagoda in China.
